Philly Man Arrested In Fatal Shooting In Camden: Prosecutor

A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man outside of a Camden motorcycle club earlier this month, authorities said.

Michael Field, 44, of Philadelphia, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jody Spence, 31, of Camden, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

An investigation determined that Spence was fatally shot on Oct. 6, at 10:24 p.m., outside of the Wheels of Soul Motorcycle Club in the 800 block of Princess Avenue in Camden.

He was found wrapped in a blue tarp in the back of his white Jeep Cherokee in the 400 block of North 5th Street in Philadelphia around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, as Daily Voice previously reported. 

On Oct. 11, detectives of the CCPO Homicide Unit were contacted by the Philadelphia Police Department 6th District with the information that Spence’s body had been located.

Following an investigation, on Thursday, Oct. 19, Field was arrested in Trenton by the US Marshals Service New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Camden Division.
